Too Much to Do, Too Little Time

It's the end of summer and I think I may have done two things on my 3 mile long to do list. I'm bummed about it. I don't know what happened with my big summer plans to get things done.

I planned on getting Anniston's room ready. Well, this is what it looks like. No paint, no furniture put together, just junk. The only thing we've done is gotten her bedding. It's sitting in a big box.

I planned on having my room look AMAZING at school. It looks okay, but I still have tons to do there too.

I planned to get my maternity plans done for when Anniston is born. I did a little of that, but it isn't legible or organized.

So, I really don't know where my summer went or what went wrong with all my plans. Needless to say, I'm a bit overwhelmed. The good part is that I've gotten to spend lots of time with Ava and that is priceless! I know the rest will get done in time!

Our New Little Addition!

We have had a new addition to our little home. His name is Whitman Nash Brooks and he is the sweetest dog I have ever been around. Let me tell you the story about this sweet little dog and how he became a part of the Brooks family. For Fall Break, and to celebrate my sister's birthday, we went on a little trip to Nashville. Our main purpose was to 1) eat at Chipotle and 2) take Ava to the Nashville Science Center. For some reason, I woke up way early on Saturday and went ahead and got ready, got everyone else to get up and get ready, and we headed to breakfast and then the Science Center. It opened at ten and we got there at nine. A few minutes after we parked, a huge truck and trailer pulled in, and the trailer had a dog on it and said Nashville Humane Society, Mobile Unit. I got out and asked if there were really dogs in there and if I could take a look around. People Pleasing Problem

One of my biggest faults is that I'm a people pleaser through and through. People pleasing sounds nice, doesn't it? I'm telling you....it's not! It is a curse and I think it stems from the devil! I think the root of the problem comes from pride. I wanna make sure to please people so that I look good. I wanna make sure everyone likes me and likes what I'm doing and everything is happy, happy, joy, joy. Except.....all that is work. Hard work. It is an impossible task that leaves me awake at all hours during the night wondering how I'm am being perceived by everyone around me. People pleasing takes time, yall. It robs me of my precious time. Instead of stewing on people pleasing thoughts....I could be spending that time in the Word (remember how I recently posted how I'm having difficulty finding focused and intentional time with God? If I worried less about people pleasing, I'd have more time with God!) I could be spending that "worry time" hav...

I love to send out personalized cards each year at Christmastime and this year there is no exception!
