Too Much to Do, Too Little Time

It's the end of summer and I think I may have done two things on my 3 mile long to do list.  I'm bummed about it.  I don't know what happened with my big summer plans to get things done.

I planned on getting Anniston's room ready.  Well, this is what it looks like.  No paint, no furniture put together, just junk.  The only thing we've done is gotten her bedding.  It's sitting in a big box.



I planned on having my room look AMAZING at school.  It looks okay, but I still have tons to do there too.


I planned to get my maternity plans done for when Anniston is born.  I did a little of that, but it isn't legible or organized.

So, I really don't know where my summer went or what went wrong with all my plans.  Needless to say, I'm a bit overwhelmed.  The good part is that I've gotten to spend lots of time with Ava and that is priceless!  I know the rest will get done in time!

Home Sweet Home....Finally!

We are finally moved in to our new home! We are so happy and are loving every second so far. Except when you break the glass in a ginormous picture....and except when somehow your brand new white towels have mysterious pink splotches on them! But other than that, we are loving our new home! Monday morning we came and did the final walk through of the house and then we went and closed on it. Since then, we have been moving machines. My awesome dad helped us get all of our heavy furniture from our storage building and our super small group friends helped us get all the boxes from one house to the new house! We still have a garage full of boxes to unpack, but I think we are moving at a steady pace. Can You Hear It?

Yesterday, Kyle and I went to the doctor's office to see if we could hear the heartbeat. As soon as I got there, the receptionist said that our doctor was out delivering a baby and it would be about 30 minutes before she got back. No big deal, I just waited. Then Kyle got there about ten minutes after I did, and we waited some more. And some more. Two hours later, we were taken back to a room where we waited for about 20 more minutes. And finally the doctor was there! No complaining, she's a busy lady! And I had my best friend there to keep me company. What more could a girl ask for....except maybe a cheeseburger-I was STARVING. We were so happy when she came in. I thought I was going to jump off the table. She started telling us about finding the heartbeat and how it could be difficult to find. The Family Now Knows!

This has been a great week for us. We told my mom, Grant, Mandy, and Sarah on Wednesday night after small group. Mom was totally surprised and excited. Sarah was excited too! Mandy said she guessed it so she wasn’t that surprised. Mom couldn’t wait to tell her mom, so we all loaded into Grant’s CRV and drove over to Granny’s. They were really excited as well. We were so glad we could tell that news with part of our family. The next night we were going to tell Kyle’s mom and sister, Katie. They were ecstatic! Now that we have told some of our family, this pregnancy seems to becoming more of a reality every day. Now I can talk with my mom and Kyle’s mom about what I am experiencing and it is awesome to not have to keep this a secret from them anymore.
